I became a qualified school teacher in 1995 after a 2 year PGCE Articled Teaching Course at Roehampton. I taught children aged from 4 - 11yrs for 8 years in the London Borough of Croydon. Teaching in mainstream schools and tutoring children in preparation for public school entrance exams gave me a solid foundation in education on which to further develop my teaching skills. After taking professional teaching exams with the IDTA  I started my first dance school in Croydon, I then went on to co-open another 2 dance schools whilst simultaneously studying for a Dance Teaching degree from New Buckinghamshire University.  Once graduated, my sister and I launched  DanceMode Dance Teacher Training courses.  It was here that I devised our method of teaching and learning, that we refer to as the 'MIA' system.  As the name implies we ensure our teaching is motivational, intentional and achievable for our learners. To date we have successfully trained over 400 dance teachers and mentored many to open their own dance schools and inspired others to grow their businesses as 'dancepreneurs'.

Additional Income Streams:

I have personally tried this internet business and I have to say it is a great way to make an additional income, risk free (although it won't make you into a millionaire!) . This is NOT an MLM or pyramid selling internet selling business or anything like that.       You just need a computer and the ability to follow instructions.

Miscellaneous

As a confidence mentor and Principal of a Performing Arts School, I have structured classes to take into account each child's personal need and assigned reward systems to ensure they both remain motivated and see their achievements celebrated. Specific 'confidence building' workshops are often run during the holidays and through the use of  fun activities, games, discussion and drama we aim to help children socialize with their peers, as well as develop confidence by teaching coping strategies.

Organising Events

I have organised and co-ordinated a supportive team in running various events. These include customised childrens parties, IDTA performance exams as well as  Confidence Building Workshops and 'friendly' competitions.
